Erin and Trace’s engagement session took place at Cedar Hill State Park by the lake, and from the moment we started, it felt like we were just hanging out as friends! The weather was perfect—clear skies, a light breeze, and just the right temperature. You could tell right away that these two were completely comfortable with each other, and their energy made the whole shoot feel really easy and fun.

They brought along some of their favorite snacks—Dr. Pepper and chips—which added such a personal, lighthearted touch. It was simple, totally them, and made the photos feel even more natural. Those little moments, like sharing a drink and laughing over something only they understood, ended up being some of my favorites from the shoot! You could really see their connection in those in-between moments, and it made everything feel super relaxed.

And then there was Winston—their sweet dog and honorary third wheel for the day. He definitely stole the show a few times with his cute expressions and excited energy. It was so fun watching the three of them together, Winston brought a whole extra layer of joy to the session!

Overall, it was just one of those shoots that didn’t feel like a session at all. It was low-key, full of laughs, and really just about capturing Erin and Trace being themselves. Their love is playful, steady, and full of good energy—and I think that came through in every single photo. I left that day with a full heart and a camera full of memories I know they’ll cherish!
