I got to spend the evening with Olivia and Rob for their engagement photos in Highland Park, and honestly it was such a relaxed, fun session! Fall was just starting to show its colors, the park felt peaceful, and these two made everything feel easy and relaxed.
They had planned for two different outfit looks, which I loved. The first was more classic and polished. We headed down to the lake, popped a bottle of champagne, and just let the moment happen. There was so much laughter—trying to open the bottle, the little spills, the clinking glasses—and it made for photos that feel joyful and real! The light on the water was soft, the leaves were turning, and it all came together perfectly and effortlessly!
Then they swapped into jeans and white tops for a more laid-back look. That’s also when their puppy, Piper, joined the fun. Puppies have a way of stealing the show, and Piper was no exception—full of energy, exploring, jumping up for pets, and just making everything feel alive! We took some photos on a bench, some while walking, and some while they were playing with her, and every shot captured a little piece of their personalities and how comfortable they are together!
By the end of the session, it felt like we had a mix of cozy, romantic moments and playful, carefree ones. The combination of the location, the season, and their personalities made it feel seamless! Honestly, it was the kind of session that reminds me why I love photographing couples—it’s not just about the pictures, it’s about capturing the energy, the laughs, and the little moments that feel uniquely them!
